Summary Location of position: GSA Office of Inspector General Office of Audits Information Technology Audit Office (JA-T) 1800 F St NW Washington, D.C. 20405 We are currently filling One vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed. Responsibilities As a Supervisory IT Specialist, this position involves leading the activities of the Cybersecurity Center of Expertise, managing multiple audit projects, and integrating various IT specialties to optimize security controls and operational procedures. Responsibilities include evaluating, analyzing complex and confidential data, adjusting resources to meet audit milestones, and effectively communicating audit results to senior management to support strategic decision-making within the OIG. As a leader in the field of IT auditing, the Supervisory IT Specialist maintains a high standard of professional excellence and ethical conduct. The role requires staying current with the latest developments in IT, auditing standards, and federal regulations to provide expert advice and technical guidance during audits. Requires active involvement in high-level meetings, provides briefings to OIG executives, and represents the OIG in interactions with external federal agencies and stakeholders. This position demands a strategic approach to influence policy decisions, advocate for the mission of the OIG, and ensure the integrity and efficiency of GSA operations. Responsible for providing legal expert testimony in legal proceedings. Serve a one-year supervisory probationary period, if required. Undergo and pass a background investigation (Tier 5 investigation level). Have your identity and work status eligibility verified if you are not a GSA employee. We will use the Department of Homeland Security’s e-Verify system for this. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of continued employment. Complete a financial disclosure report to verify that no conflict, or an appearance of conflict, exists between your financial interest and this position. Qualifications The GS-15 salary range starts at $163, 964 per year. Applicants applying for the GS-15 grade level must meet the following requirements: Have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies AND one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service as described below: IT SPECIALIST COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: Attention to Detail- This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant keeps abreast of latest technology, information, research, etc., to maintain knowledge in field of expertise (for example, reads trade journals, participates in professional/technical associations, maintains credentials). Customer Service- This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant promotes or develops and maintains good working relationships with key individuals or groups. Oral Communication- This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant serves on panels, committees, or task forces as a representative for the organization on technical or professional issues. Problem Solving- This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant monitors current trends or events (for example, technological, economic, political, social, educational, or employment trends or events) and applies the information as appropriate. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: To qualify, applicants must possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience applying IT security policies, concepts, practices, and emerging issues, and project management methods and concepts sufficient to planning, coordinating and implement agency wide, government wide or equivalent IT security strategies and programs to ensure protection of IT assets and infrastructure. This experience includes defining objectives, interpreting policies and determining their effect on program needs, developing and leading major IT security initiatives and providing program management and oversight.
