GCI Communication Corp Pricing & Revenue Data Senior Analyst in United States

GCI's Pricing & Revenue Data Senior Analyst will support GCI Business revenue and pricing activities. Provide accurate revenue data support to support corporate and departmental decision making. Maintains financial billing data and adheres to compliance and SOX controls.

Essential Duties:

  • Successfully support the execution of project and business enhancement needs for GCI Business with other departments, with a strong emphasis on affecting internal cross-department coordination. This includes, but is not limited to, coordinating and planning business resources to fulfill projects and business enhancements within GCI’s Provisioning and Billing systems. In addition, position will:

  • Coordinate and oversee requirements meetings.

  • Act as the single point of contact for configuration questions and recommendations

  • Schedule and manage resources for testing.

  • Ensure thorough and complete execution of releasing products to the end users.

  • Understand the process for system changes, including configuration, requirements, and testing.

  • Supports dataset development for Health and Education services and GCIB product rate table development. Works with Product and internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy of data within the dataset. Researches and validates GCIB revenue data in support of strategic initiatives.

  • Prepare ad hoc and routine reporting/dashboards for GCI Business Services as required.

  • Provide Quality Assurance methods to correct billing errors. Create processes to prevent CSRs from making future billing errors.

  • Troubleshoot billing system-related problems and assist other GCI departments with billing issues, trouble resolution and user training.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to prepare and review financial analyses and documents, maintain consistent analyses methodologies, find, and resolve errors in imported data, and minimize forecasting and analysis errors.

  • Ability to move easily between detail and conceptual levels.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision within varying and changing priorities and timelines.

  • Ability to compare current procedures against industry best practices and recommend enhancements.

  • Telecommunications industry knowledge including local, internet, cable, long distance, and wireless products and services; call center, and service delivery activities are desired.

  • Computer knowledge: proficiency with Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software; proficiency with GCI billing, customer care, and provisioning systems; SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, and Python experience is highly desired.

  • Communication skills: Demonstrated ability to: listen effectively to obtain technical information; verbally communicate (telephone, one-on-one and group presentations) technical requirements, costs, time scheduling information; respectfully demand personnel time and information necessary to meet deadlines; and prepare accurate and decipherable written reports and recommendations; must be able to communicate with personnel at all levels of the company.

  • Interpersonal skills: Demonstrated ability to work well with others under stressful, time restricted conditions, displaying patience and tolerance and promoting teamwork.

  • Ability to schedule equipment and personnel to maximize productivity and meet priority deadlines.

  • Demonstrated project management and/or contractor management experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated understanding of telecommunications concepts required.

  • Strong attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset.

Certifications: Industry specific certifications are highly valued and may contribute toward education.

Level Definition:

Job Title: Senior Pricing & Revenue Data Analyst

Grade: E05

Additional Job Requirements: This is an intermediate level position working under minimal supervision; must possess a comprehensive knowledge of the discipline and works on moderate to complex projects, diverse duties under deadlines; requires a high-level working knowledge of the subject matter; billing and revenue data analysis/management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum four (4) years relevant work experience in a business data type environment listed below:

  • Business intelligence, sales, marketing, or product management environment.

  • Experience in SQL.

  • Programming in Python or comparable languages (desired).

  • Business intelligence visualization tools, preferable tableau, and Alteryx.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field is required.

  • In addition to minimum experience required, degree may be substituted with relevant work experience on a year for year basis.

Job Requirements at All Levels

Physical Requirements: Physical effort may include stooping, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Clarity of vision to see near, mid-range, and color. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

Working Conditions: The work area must be quiet and free of distractions. Lighting must be adequate and without glare. Distracting noises should be kept to a minimum. The employee’s desk must be adequate, designed to safely accommodate the equipment the employee must use, e.g., computer, printer, keyboard, monitor etc. The employee must have reliable connectivity to the internet to access GCI via VPN. Employee workstation must comply with GCI’s ergonomics standards.

The company and its subsidiaries operate in a 24/7 environment providing critical services to Alaskans and may need to respond to public health and safety matters or other business emergencies. Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the core business hours to respond to the immediate emergency. As such, you will be requested to provide emergency after hours contact numbers, to include your home and cell phone numbers if you have those services.

Driving Requirements (if applicable): Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and a satisfactory driving record. This position requires occasional use of personal vehicle to attend meetings.
