As a Heavy | | Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for the preventative and | | repair maintenance and troubleshooting on all heavy mobile equipment. | | Heidelberg Materials provides the materials to build our future. Heidelberg Materials | | North America, previously known as Lehigh Hanson, operates more than | | 450 locations with approximately 9,000 employees in the U.S. and | | Canada. | | What You'll Get to Do: | |   | | | | - Lubricate and perform preventative maintenance | | - Perform repairs as required to achieve optimum performance | | - Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose problems | | - Ensure all equipment repairs are performed accurately to the | | manufacturer standards | | - Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly | | to ensure proper performance and compliance with specifications. | | - Perform other miscellaneous mechanical and maintenance duties as | | assigned | | | | Essential Experience and Skills: | | | | - A valid driver's license with Class B CDL with tanker and hazmat | | endorsements. (Heidelberg Materials will help pay for the cost of | | training.) | | - Flexibility and willingness and ability to work nontraditional | | hours and on Saturdays | | - Self-starter and a team player | | - Good communication skills | | - Must have own tools | | - Requires lifting, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, | | and working at elevated heights at times in tight and awkward | | positions. | | | | Preferred Experience and Skills: | | | | - 5 years' heavy equipment repair experience preferred | | - Welding/Fitting/Fabrication Skills a plus | | - Record keeping skills | | - Mechanical aptitude | | - Attention to detail | | - Light computer skills | | | | What We Have to Offer: | | | | - $30.44 / hour | | - Benefits through the Union for Medical, Dental, and Vision | | - Company 401k plan | | - Union -- Personal Time Off PTO: 88 hours a year | | - Paid sick time 4 hours a per year | | - Union - 9 paid holidays | | | | Conditions of Employment: | | | | - Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment | | physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. | | - Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol | | testing. | | | | Work Environment: | | | | - Role operations primarily in environments where the conditions | | include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, | | cold, humidity, and elevated noise level. | | - Strong safety culture | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+
