Procurement Officer

Serve as the Procurement Officer for an enterprise Base Operations Support contract in the Northwest Florida Area. This individual will be responsible for providing day-to-day oversight and management in the Procurement support areas of the contract and must demonstrate and apply highly developed interpersonal, analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills the ability to manage complex programs in a diverse and dynamic environment with short-notice tasking’s under high pressure situations. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.


  • Adheres to the procedures, guidelines, regulations, policies, directives to support the contract

  • Communicate effectively with subordinates, base staff personnel and headquarters personnel.

  • Develops updates and maintains plans for procurement.

  • Ensures all required reports and correspondence are submitted.

  • Develops, coordinates and participates in the various base operations plans.

  • Ensure that all plans and procedures are being followed and performed.

  • Schedules, hosts, and/or attends meetings and working groups required.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, operations management or equivalent preferred

  • 5-10 years’ experience in a supply, purchasing, warehousing, planning and/or purchasing capacity

  • Minimum of two years having served in a supervisory capacity.

  • Extensive knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including but not limited to; Word, Power-Point, Excel and Access programs.

  • Must possess a current TS/SCI clearance

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have excellent verbal communication, oral communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to deal with a variety of personnel and customers in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.

  • Mature judgment and ability to work with little or no supervision.

  • Expert knowledge of FAR/DFAR clauses for movement of US Government cargo
