Abbott Software QA Tester in Taguig City, Philippines

The Software QA Tester is an entry level role within eScreen’s Quality Assurance team. This position involves manual testing of software changes, ensuring application functionality meets or exceeds the product owner’s and customer’s expectations and needs. The Software QA Tester will be required to follow testing practices and procedures, as well as applying proven testing techniques

The Software QA Tester is also be expected to understand and exhibit the importance of adhering to regulations (i.e. SOX, FDA, HIPAA, PCI, etc.) and is responsible for contributing to regulatory compliance.

As an important member of an Agile environment, the Software QA Tester is expected to cultivate, grow, and maintain core principals including, but not limited to, continuous improvement, self-organization, adaptive planning, and value driven development, using methodologies and frameworks such as LEAN, SCRUM, and KANBAN. Additionally, you will possess a growth-mindset, be team-oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, and possess the ability to deal with ambiguity; applicants must demonstrate an aptitude for team communication and collaboration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - (KEY ACTIVITIES)

  • Create written test solutions for user stories within a Scrum or Kanban team

  • Work within team-defined commitment windows to provide value to our customers and clients

  • Work with a Scrum or Kanban team to create solutions for stakeholders and clients

  • Tests user interfaces, SQL databases, reports, APIs, and data transmissions

  • Create tests, including test data, in a variety of testing environments

  • Learn and demonstrate basic test automation skills and practices

  • Learn and demonstrate software testing practices, methodologies, and techniques

  • Use judgment within defined policies and practices

  • Document and communicate issues and/or concerns discovered during sprints

  • Assist in building a culture of learning and continuous improvement for the team (QA and SCUM/KANBAN)

  • Work with development and QA, displaying strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Demonstrate an understanding of how applications are used by customers, clients, and internal support

  • Work independently with moderate reliance on a more senior team member

  • Follows the processes slated within the quality assurance department in accordance to all regulations (i.e. SOX, FDA/Quality, general controls)

  • This position will also be required to work nights and weekends as needed to support development efforts and to perform production release validations
