GS-05: $39,576 - $51,446 GS-04: $35,373 - $45,982 Responsibilities You will provide support for the survey instrumentation aboard the assigned platform and work in a Systems Integration Laboratory ashore to support primary data collection and processing systems used on board NAVOCEANO platforms. You will develop and maintain spare parts requirements and system documentation and provide the operational maintenance support aboard the assigned ship. You will provide data required to support detailed engineering reports related to field support operations. You will perform assigned maintenance procedures and other related duties as assigned. Education SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: GS-05: Successful completion of (a) all the requirements for a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or electronics technology, or (b) 3 years of study in an accredited (by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) curriculum in electronics, or (c) a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree that included major study or at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as those shown above for GS-4 or equivalent. At least 12 of the 24 semester hours must have been in electronics courses. GS-04: Successful completion of 2 years of study that included at least 12 semester hours in engineering, physical science, technology, or mathematics. At least 6 of the 12 semester hours must have been in electronics courses. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. The position often requires irregular hours. This position requires evening and weekend work. The incumbent will be required to travel for extended periods and in excess of 50 percent of the year.
