About the role:

The Training and Instructional Design Specialist is responsible for consulting with Training Consultants, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Business Process Owners (BPOs) and the Learning Management System Team to determine appropriate training and development strategies. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining Instructor Led Training (ILT), On-the-Job training (OJT), e-learning, Video, Knowledge Checks (KCs), etc. following appropriate instructional design methods and techniques. Training materials/content is developed in accordance to Takeda’s policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Create training courses/materials - 50%

  • Improve existing training courses/materials - 20%

  • Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions on courses/materials developed and/or revised - 10%

What you bring to Takeda:

Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or GED plus 5+ years of experience in content development or bachelors' degree in instructional design, science engineering or other related technical and 2+ years of related experience.

Key Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

  • Support job task, training gap analysis and remediation plans as necessary.

  • Assess, determine and recommend best training intervention using risk-based methodology

  • At a mastery level, understands and implements the ADDIE instructional design model or equivalent, and adult learning principles

  • Apply instructional design theories to analyze, consult, and create training materials which may include virtual, face-to- face, eLearning, and synchronous and asynchronous global learning events

  • Mentor training professionals in Instructional Design and e-Learning production locally and virtually across a global network

  • Research and implement innovative learning tools and technologies to meet learners and instructional designers’ needs, delivered across multiple devices and platforms.

  • Collaborates with Training Consultants, BPOs and SMEs to determine training needs and approval on training material/content

  • Stays current on innovative training approaches and training technology including adult learning research

  • Identifies, evaluates, recommends and implements new technology and approaches to support training needs

  • Develop and maintain training content for ILTs, OJTs, e-learning, KCs, etc.

  • Ensures compliant training programs, reinforce Takeda’s corporate standards and business specific standards

  • Demonstrated experience with current learning trends supporting innovative learning solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and clearly communicate theory, concepts and practices to a wide variety of audiences

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Collaborative style and customer focus

  • Excellent time management and planning skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

  • Assist in setting up evaluation systems to assess the effectiveness of developmental initiatives at satisfaction, activity, and outcome levels

  • Assess trends and opportunities for improvements to enhance training effectiveness. Suggest and implement corrective plans to enhance learning retention

  • Complete special projects related to training or continuous improvement as required

Complexity and Problem Solving

  • High degree of autonomy and self-directed activities prioritized according to business need.

  • Involved in complex problem resolution and will work with minimal direction. Appropriate structured problem-solving techniques will be used to resolve business problems with focus on compliance and business risk in all solutions. Ability to influence in a highly matrixed environment is required.

Other Requirements:

  • Experience in creating training materials in Articulate 360 (i.e. quizzes in Storyline, courses in Rise 360, etc.)

  • Proficient in MS Office and Visio

  • Instructional design certification

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.

  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • Work in a cold, wet environment.

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

Takeda Compensation and Benefits Summary

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. We are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices.

For Location:

USA - GA - Social Circle - Hwy 278

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$56,000.00 - $88,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
