Position Summary
The Product Development Assistant will support the design and production teams as we explore new products and possibilities in ceramics. This role supports the Product Development Team and Lab in projects involving glaze reformulations, glaze development, and parts of the product development process.
Responsibilities
Support the workflow of glaze reformulations and the product development process
Perform Quality Control process based on production standards
Batching out test glazes for glaze development and glaze reformulation
Data entry using Google Sheets / Google Docs to enter test data
Testing the performance of our glazes against ASTM standards
Special projects as needed
Qualifications and Skills
2+ years of Ceramics experience, Ceramics degree, a plus
Broad practical knowledge of ceramic production processes, including glaze making, glazing, and QC
Practical knowledge of glaze-making techniques
Detail Oriented
Reliable and punctual
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to maintain systems of organization
Documentation: abilty to document testing results with consistently and accuracy, Excel or Google Sheets experience is a plus
Work Environment/ Hours / Compensation
This is a temporary, part-time hourly position, 2/ days a week for the next 6-8 months. This role is located onsite and candidates must have the abilty to work in our two locations, San Francisco and Sausalito. Flexibilty to move between the locations is key. This position pays $30/ per hour and reports to our Product Development Manager.
