Robert Half Patient Care Coordinator in San Rafael, California

Description We are looking for a meticulous Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team in San Rafael, California. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for patients, handling a variety of tasks including appointment scheduling, administrative duties, and customer service. You will be working onsite in a fast-paced call center environment, providing crucial support to both patients and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities:

• Answer multiple departmental phone calls, responding to customer requests including appointment scheduling, screening, and routing calls, and taking messages as appropriate.

• Communicate with healthcare providers regarding scheduling preferences and respond to urgent patient needs in accordance with established departmental protocol.

• Provide doctor-patient support using reference documents and online knowledge base tools.

• Actively participate in the achievement of organizational and departmental goals.

• Conduct various administrative tasks including maintaining information and paging directory databases, and processing internal forms.

• Utilize all functionality of the telephone system and electronic medical records system in performing assigned job tasks.

• Resolve patient problems of a limited scope and complexity.

• Meet and exceed organizational and departmental service standards.

• Abide by hospital policies on attire, work habits, and relationships.

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a preference for speaking English and Spanish or other languages. Requirements

• Must have strong customer service skills

• Ability to handle documentation with accuracy

• Knowledge of policies and procedures related to patient registration

• Proficiency in scheduling appointments in a healthcare setting

• Familiarity with database management and scheduling software

• Ability to provide workstation support

• Excellent phone presence and interpersonal skills

• Typing skills and proficiency in clerical duties

• Fluent in English and Spanish languages

• Experience with scanning documents and handling video machinery

• Knowledge of SAN - Storage Area Network is desirable

• Familiarity with HealthCare.gov and its operations

• Experience in a call center environment is beneficial

• Proficient computer skills, including word processing

• Understanding of health care systems and database management

• Excellent written communication skills
