State of Utah - Jobs Internal Auditor I in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Are you detail-oriented and have excellent analytical and critical thinking skills? Do you enjoy working as part of a team on a wide variety of projects where you discover and learn new things? Do you have great interpersonal skills,and can you effectively communicate complex topics to others? If so,the Office of Internal Audit within the Utah Department of Government Operations needs you!

This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office (2 days a week required) and telework days. The office is located at the Taylorsville State Office Building 4315 So 2700 West,Taylorsville,Utah. Please note,a position's eligibility for telework is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.    As part of the Office of Internal Audit team,you will provide in-depth analysis of programs,functions,and processes to ensure that operations are efficient and effective,information is accurate and reliable,and that compliance with laws,regulations,policies,and procedures is maintained. As a trusted advisor,you will make recommendations for improvement,and help to ensure that departments are achieving their goals and objectives,managing risks effectively,and complying with laws and regulations.  

The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has:

Internal audit or closely related experience,either in the public or private sector at the following levels:

  • Auditor I: 1-2 years of proven experience

Already obtained,or is interested in obtaining professional certifications such as:

  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team to complete assigned

audit tasks in a timely manner.

An understanding of internal audit and/or government auditing standards.

Professional work experience applying audit techniques and conducting risk

assessments as part of the audit planning process.

The ability to apply critical thinking skills to provide recommendations for

process improvements and corrective actions.
