The Digital Modernization group at Leidos has an opening for a Systems Engineer to aid the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) End User Support Services contract. The successful candidate will be a member of the engineering team accountable for working closely with other program groups such as Networking, Server Operations, Security, and Field Support teams to ensure the adherence of Engineering best practices and delivery of engineering products. This person will aid gathering, documenting, reviewing, executing and delivering of System Designs, needs, Requirements Traceability Matrices, Test Plans, and Test Procedures as well as maintain current engineering documents in assistance of program initiatives and compliance directives.

The Systems Engineer role provides technical expertise; planning design, development, and integration, verification and validations and fielding across a SDLC/Agile team to ensure that system application regulations are verified through the integration and test process. This role aids systems implementation and upgrades to include documenting system test plan and procedures, assisting project planning, process improvement, test integration, and requirements verification and validation. This role refines Program Engineering processes, maintains Engineering document baselines and Project Engineering deliverables, and assists program compliance through process adherence change management. The System engineer will work closely with project guides and Test Engineering to translate project objectives and requirements to usable test plans and procedures to ensure system integration and testing meets program and project objectives and schedules.

Primary Tasks:

  • Develop, maintain and review Systems Design and Protocol Documents.

  • Map application/system requirements to existing and new test cases.

  • Create test plans and procedures for functional, systems integration, regression testing, and test automation.

  • Contribute significantly to technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding activities.

  • Perform systems requirements evaluation, functional evaluation, timeline evaluation, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance.

  • Perform automation tasks through scripting and testing.

  • Perform System Engineering tasks in assistance of program projects and activities.

  • Directing the review process and serve as the SME for application ; serving as the power user/direct.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing technical documentation including requirements, Requirements Traceability verification Matrix (RTVM), system designs, test procedures, transition plans and operation concept documents.

  • Previous full cycle Integration and test experience.

  • Exposure to Cloud Concepts, Project Management methodologies, and agile methodologies and tools.

  • Exposure to document management / change management best practices.

  • Experience with Microsoft M365, Ideagen. Please Review, Redmine and/or DOORS.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
