Responsibilities

The Cyber Security team is seeking a high-performing Administrative Specialist to join our team. The selected candidate will perform a diverse range of daily administrative activities in direct support of the Cyber Security Manager and Cyber Security department to meet Cyber Security’s mission and operational goals. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Cyber Security Manager with coordination and direction of daily management activities throughout the department, including, but not limited to, policies, directives, initiatives, visitors, and procedures.

  • Plan, execute, and manage a wide variety of administrative, operational, calendaring, and organizational requirements and activities, requiring independent analysis and self-direction.

  • Responsible for composing, preparing, editing, and distribution of correspondence, reports, presentations, and forms.

  • Act as point of contact for data calls.

  • Develop spreadsheets, charts, presentations, and meeting minutes.

  • Coordinate, attend, and document meetings as needed.

  • Act as hiring point of contact for the department to include editing and publishing job descriptions, scheduling interviews, and assisting with onboarding efforts.

  • Assist management in planning, coordinating, and directing a variety of office management functions within the organization.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 2 years of professional level experience, which provided a sound working knowledge of administrative policies and procedures, or equivalent training and experience.

  • Cyber Security or IT experience preferred.

  • Preferred Certifications

  • MO-100: Microsoft Word (Office 2019)

  • MO-200: Microsoft Excel (Office 2019)

  • MO-300: Microsoft PowerPoint (Office 2019)

  • MO-400: Microsoft Outlook (Office 2019)

  • MO-101: Microsoft Word Expert (Office 2019)

  • MO-201: Microsoft Excel Expert (Office 2019)

  • MO-500: Microsoft Access Expert (Office 2019)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • SharePoint experience preferred.

  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels.

  • Must have strong computer skills, organizational skills, and be able to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to pass a federal background and obtain a “Q” Clearance.

  • The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.

  • Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change).

  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

    Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in10 CFR Part 707.4 (http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?SID=14b1c770db022992d237769fbe9fc519&mc=true&node=se10.4.707_14&rgn=div8) , “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Annual salary range for this position is:$62,358.40 - $93,537.60.

Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
