Responsibilities

Major Job Activities:

The Aircraft Worker performs the functions of a Plane Captain on E-2C/D. Washes aircraft, performs daily, turnaround inspections. Performs launch and recovery procedures, services aircraft, takes oil and fuel samples, checks fluid levels. Secures aircraft for heavy weather, stand fire bottle duties, inventories tools and consumable materials, and performs other duties necessary to meet the flight schedule.

What You'll Do:

Shall have the ability to bend, climb, lift 40lbs, read and understand inspection cards and technical manuals, utilize NALCOMIS/OOMA information systems.

  • Must be knowledgeable of NAMP programs and shall be knowledgeable of and understand basic supply procedures.

  • Aircraft Worker shall have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy and ensure adherence to all applicable policies and procedures.

  • Thorough working knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications.

  • Working understanding of the aircraft and aircraft systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs requirements in accordance with the procedures established in the PWS. Only performs maintenance with applicable publications, maintenance cards and instructions.

  • Assists in aircraft maintenance functions of the Flight Line, Corrosion Control, and Organizational Level Maintenance Support.

  • Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance support for assigned E-2C/D aircraft.

  • Performs all line functions.

  • Aircraft maintenance action documentation via logs, records, forms, and electronic means.

  • Documents discrepancies found during daily, turnaround and special inspections.

  • Read and interpret manufacturers' maintenance manuals, military technical manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, blueprints, manufacturers’ drawings, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

  • Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections.

  • Perform general housekeeping and organization of workstation(s), shop(s), maintenance facility to provide a clean, safe, and FOD free environment.

  • Perform shift work and/or overtime as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift as required to support maintenance/flight schedule.

  • Must be able to work flexible schedule as required.

  • Shall be able to travel in support of detachment operations as required.

  • Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, and aircraft.

  • Must be able to use hand and power tools.

  • Must have dexterity to handle small parts.

  • Must be eligible for a Common Access Card (CAC).

    Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to become eligible for a Secret Security Clearance.

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data system.
