Ward and Smith, P.A. is a growing full-service law firm with multiple offices throughout North Carolina. We are seeking an experienced Estate Administration Paralegal. Occasional travel between offices may be necessary.

The role of the Estate Administration Paralegal is to assist attorneys in the administration of estates, trusts, and guardianships, including drafting correspondence and legal documents and preparing inventories, accountings, and other probate documents; conferring with clients, beneficiaries, insurance companies, financial institutions, public officials, and court administrators; reviewing tax strategies and preparing various tax returns; gathering information and keeping abreast of administrative changes. The overall goal is to assist attorneys in ensuring quality service to our clients. All paralegal functions must adhere to NC State Bar Rules of Professional Conduct and are performed under the supervision of an attorney.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic; exceptional time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent client communications and service; proficient technology skills, including, but not limited to, MS Office Suite and general online research; and meticulous attention to detail with strong proofreading skills. The paralegal must be able to work independently, handling an estate from beginning to end, collaborating with team members as needed. Successful applicants should have five to seven years of paralegal experience, preferably in Estate Administration or a combination of accounting or paralegal education and experience. Must have a NC Notary Public commission or the ability to obtain same.

Ward and Smith, P.A. is an equal opportunity employer and values a diverse workforce. Candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
