Description

A well-established law firm specializing in litigation offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paralegal to join our Neptune office teams in multiple areas of litigation including personal injury and commercial litigation matters. The office environment consists of friendly and hand- working staff. Salary will be based on experience and/or other qualifications. The position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, staff, attorneys, adversaries, and court personnel

  • Interview clients; meet with clients to prepare answer to interrogatories and discovery

  • Set up, maintain and manages files from inception to completion of litigation

  • Prepare pleadings, discovery, Arbitration statements

  • Communicate with insurance carries and medical providers

  • Identify matters to be escalated

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have knowledge and past litigation experience

  • Must be a self-starter

  • Must be able to work independently

  • Impeccable integrity and a demonstrated ability to maintain the strictest level of confidentiality

  • Exemplary interpersonal skills

  • Superior writing and proofreading capabilities, inclusive of a legal/technical nature

  • Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to multi-task

  • Sound judgement and ability to prioritize under pressure

  • Excellent decision-making/problem-solving abilities

  • Consistent thoroughness/attention to detail

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years + experience as a paralegal in litigation required

  • Knowledge of and experience in Plaintiff Personal Injury law- pleadings discovery, court procedures, e-failing

  • Knowledge of and experience in commercial litigation including drafting of pleadings, agreements, discovery, court procedures, and e-filing

  • Paralegal or Legal Studies Certificate preferred, but not required

  • Computer skills including a strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs

  • Candidates may be asked to demonstrate writing ability and are invited to present writing samples

  • Knowledge of ACMS, JEKIS, e-filing, online court recording systems

  • Letters of Recommendation are encouraged
