Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Pharmacy Technician (PRN), you will play a vital role in our pharmacy department by assisting with stocking, filling/refilling ADM's, inputting charges, prepacking and storing medication, ordering and inventorying IV medications and Narcotic drugs, and preparing IV medications. Your responsibilities align with the hospital's long-range plan, mission, vision, and values.

Position Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred; basic computer skills required.

• Tennessee Board of Pharmacy pharmacy technician licensure required.

• Pharmacy technician certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB – PTCB exam completion) or National Healthcare Association (NHA – ExCPT exam completion) required.

Performance Expectations:

• Demonstrate specific competencies as listed on the Competency Validation Checklist.

• Meet mutually-agreed upon performance goals/objectives annually.

• Understand and appropriately protect sensitive and confidential information.

• Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Work Environment:

• Limited contact with patients but in a wide variety of circumstances.

• Access to necessary protective gear for task performance without exposure risk.

• Occasional irregular work hours and pressure due to multiple phone calls and inquiries from doctors and nurses.
