Azure Customer Experience FastTrack for Azure (FTA) team helps customers accelerate their move to Azure, getting them on track to “build it right the first time”. FastTrack for Azure takes a solution-centric approach, providing customers with access to Microsoft Azure engineers, tools and best practices to increase and accelerate customer success in leveraging the benefits of consuming Azure services.

The FastTrack for Azure team is looking for you: a Senior Tooling Program Manager Lead to join our team and lead our Tooling & Automation Platforms. This role is integral to onboarding tooling and automation processes that support our FastTrack for Azure business.

As the Senior Tooling Program Manager Lead, you will spearhead the strategic development and implementation of world-class tooling and automation solutions. You will also develop a strong relationship with our development organization who are also responsible for serving up products for us to leverage. Your leadership will extend beyond mere management of tools; it will encompass driving innovative practices in tooling and automation. This role is critical in enhancing the capabilities and operational efficiencies of our internal FTA teams. As a Lead, you will not only oversee the tooling landscape but also inspire and guide a team of professionals, fostering an environment of innovation and excellence in tooling strategy and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a team of Program Managers to deliver world-class BI and Tooling solutions to our internal and external users.

  • Build or onboard new tools and automation into our FastTrack-supported portfolio, ensuring seamless integration and maximized utility.

  • Stay ahead of technological trends to continuously enhance our tooling capabilities.

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of tooling, including readiness, tracking, and reporting, ensuring all tools are optimized for performance and scalability.

  • Implement robust strategies for lifecycle management to ensure long-term tooling sustainability.

  • Drive the gathering and refinement of requirements for Tooling & Automation by actively interfacing with key stakeholders across the FTA organization.

  • Ensure that all tooling solutions are tailored to meet specific stakeholder needs and align with organizational goals.

  • Actively contribute to the vision and roadmap for Tooling & Automation, infusing innovation and strategic foresight into our planning processes.

  • Employ standard project management methodologies to orchestrate highly effective, predictable, and repeatable tooling onboarding processes.

  • Lead and manage ad-hoc special projects, demonstrating agility and the ability to deliver high-quality results in varying scenarios.

  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation in Tooling : Constantly seeking and implementing improvements and innovations in tooling and automation processes and technologies, ensuring that the organization stays ahead of the curve in tooling capabilities.

  • Efficient Project Management and Execution : Demonstrating excellence in project management, including efficient resource allocation, timely delivery of projects, and maintaining high standards of quality and reliability in all tooling projects and processes.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, Business, or related field AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, Business, or related field AND 12+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • 3+ years people management experience

  • 5+ years of experience in building and launching successful data platforms and products.

  • Technical proficiency in one or more cloud technologies, with a preference for MS Azure.

  • Developer background or good understanding of development concepts, preferred.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to drive projects and build buy-in and support.

  • Ability to effectively gather and prioritize user requirements from disparate sources, going beyond user requests to get at key user needs, and the ability to effectively collaborate in cross-functional settings.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders, and manage difficult and sensitive situations.

  • Experienced people manager of diverse and inclusive teams with people development skills.

Customer Experience Program Mgmt M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
