HVACR Mechanic - Master

Essential Job Duties

  • Supports OCONUS customer working 7 days/week, 10 hours/day, plus supports after-hour emergent repairs or off-shift task order requirements

  • Installs, maintains, or repairsenvironmental-control systems using knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, structural layout, and troubleshooting

  • Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements, and using a variety of hand tools and measuring and testing instruments

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned – Personnel in each discipline on this team will be required to assist in disciplines other than their primary trade. All personnel, regardless of title or position, may be required to complete any task within their capability. Example: If an Electrical and HVAC Technician are at a remote site to perform routine maintenance and a plumbing issue arises, the technicians should make their best effort to repair the plumbing issue, even though it is not their primary trade

  • High school (or GED equivalent}, technical school, or trade school graduate or equivalent apprenticeship to include formalized training in stationary engineering

  • Qualification/certification as an HVACR mechanic in a CONUS jurisdiction

  • Eight (8) years of experience in the HVACR trades, to include two (2) years or more supervisory experience

  • Must be thoroughly familiar with HVACR maintenance of equipment

  • Possess a Universal CFC refrigerant handling license

  • Thorough knowledge of refrigeration, HVACR systems

  • A record of safe operations and working knowledge of safety standards for mechanical systems

  • Knowledge of building and safety codes and practices

  • Must be able to read blueprints and perform material take-offs from prints

  • Must possess leadership skills

  • Must possess the skills and demeanor to effectively communicate with the customer, team, and subordinates

  • Successfully pass pre-deployment physical and training

  • Willingness to work in austere locations/conditions

  • Experience in OCONUS operations and maintenance projects highly preferred

  • Minimum of SECRET clearance required, TS preferred. Clearances are driven by location.
