About the role – AI Engineering Manager

As the new AI Engineering Manager, you lead a team of engineers and collaborate deeply with product teams, commercial solution area leaders, product managers, and designers to build AI (Artificial Intelligence) solutions grounded in consistent architectures that have proven repeatability with customers. These solutions will help accelerate sales. You work with AI engineering product groups to pull in the latest and greatest features and capabilities for customers to use. And you work closely with strategy and design teams as peers to integrate assets and methodologies into the sales go-to-market activities, driving differentiated business outcomes.

As the AI Engineering Manager, you are the face of the CSA CTO engineering team, representing their work, and unblocking the team when problems arise. You manage a highly skilled team and help in the growth of their careers. You drive action and alignment by cultivating relationships with senior management and partnerships with product management and design leaders.

You bring a deep understanding and expertise in digital transformation opportunities across AI, supported by thought leadership in advanced technologies such as Generative AI, Advanced Analytics and App Modernization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and high-quality software applications that leverage AI technologies to enable business outcomes, foster innovation, and enable efficiency across organizational boundaries to drive clarity and alignment.

  • Drive the end-to-end solution development lifecycle, from requirements gathering, ideation, quick prototyping to implementation and technical validation.

  • Conduct research, stay current with the latest developments in new technologies, latest industry trends and bring ideas and insights to the team to drive innovation.

  • Collaborate with CSA CTO’s production team (including PM and design), develop scalable, deployable, reusable, and relevant field enablement technical assets to accelerate customer and partner AI cloud adoption including customer-facing, product-validated solution architectures, GitHub repositories, tools, and accelerators.

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements and solutions.

  • Travel to relevant industry conferences and other related events, as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of experience in engineering management, including leading agile projects, sprint planning and resource allocation.

  • 4+ years of experience working on and deploying applications to Azure or similar cloud platforms.

  • 4+ years of experience with code repositories including but not limited: Azure DevOps; GitHub as well as understanding of branching and tagging strategies; understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of recent customer engagement experience related to engineering, prototyping and solution creation.

  • 4+ years of experience with Azure Data and AI services, Data Engineering, Analytics, Machine Learning, Cognitive Services; Cognitive Search and exposure to OpenAI solutions.

  • Experience with design engineering, customer workshops, defining customer problem statements.

  • Experience with open-source ecosystem.

  • Familiarity with large language models (LLM), prompt engineering and retrieval augmented generation (RAG) architectures.

Software Engineering M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,500 - $276,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,800 - $304,200 per year.
