JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description We are looking for a self-driven, licensed design leader with excellent technical and interpersonal skills whose primary role is to lead and manage design and planning efforts for projects of varying scope and complexity. From high level mixed-use, campus or senior community master planning to the design of sites and buildings, you will design experiences that represent the mission, purpose, culture and brand of our clients. The Design Architect acts as a client liaison for projects, leading them through our purpose-driven design approach to ensure seamless facilitation and coordination of planning, programming, concept and schematic design. You will have opportunities to provide leadership and mentoring to individuals within and outside of project teams while working in a highly collaborative environment. The Fundamentals Maintain a positive attitude and exhibit integrity. Exhibit strong public presentation skills. Experience in mixed-use, multifamily, senior living and hospitality architectural design. Effectively communicate with clients, consultants and internal teams, both in written and oral format. Work with the Project Manager to propel the design as necessary to maintain that client goals and drivers are delivered within budget and schedule. Develop innovative design solutions tailored to each project and circumstance. Lead the design team to author design concepts and design objectives. Provide mentoring and direction to the internal project team with respect to design. Prepare presentation and design drawings using current techniques and technology, including manual and digital tools. Selection and knowledge of current and appropriate materials and products. Work at different scales - from master planning to fine detailing. Hold exceptional organization skills and work with modest supervision and guidance. Solve problems proactively and prioritize tasks and assignments. The Fine Print Licensed Architect with a minimum 7 years of relevant work experience in the Architecture Industry. No other staff report directly to this position, this position reports to the Living Environments Studio Director. Strong understanding of sustainable design and building processes and concepts is desirable. Knowledge and experience with Revit, Sketchup and related software is preferred. Knowledge of other graphic software such as 3D Studio, V-Ray, Rhino, Grasshopper is preferred. Work is performed five days a week with a minimum four days per week physically present in the MKE office.
