Summary/General Description of Responsibilities:

  • The incumbent performs a variety of electrical trade functions, such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the production, distribution, or utilization of electrical energy.

  • Skilled and proficient in the usage of thermography equipment, motor circuit analysis equipment, and electrical measurement logging equipment (electronic chart recorder).

  • Keeps supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered and identifies and reports safety, environmental, and other work requirements for resolution.

  • The incumbent is responsible for adapting to evolving PDM industry best practices and responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Inspections and assessments of electrical gear, breaker panels, transformers, motor control centers, motors, and other similar electrical equipment, reporting those conditions to the AT and performing the electrical repair work requests issued by the AT.

  • Utilize thermography imaging to investigate and identify facility and RPIE electrical hot spots, and identify electrical distribution problems.

  • Must be able to utilize PDM tools in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of critical assets.

  • Utilize both offline and online motor analysis systems to test and provide reports on motors; Correct electrical machine problems identified by the PDM lab, and Support motor repair shop.

  • Performs diagnoses and inspection of malfunctioning systems, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

  • Installs or repairs a variety of electrical equipment such as transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, and other transmission equipment.

  • Works standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.

  • Must be fully capable of articulating findings and corrective actions in written (report) format.

  • Utilizes and interprets technical manuals, shop directives, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and specifications, verbal and written instructions.

  • Responsible for completing daily work order log documenting inspections, maintenance, and repair information, to include work performed, materials used and hours worked on each assigned work order.

  • Interfaces with customers and responsible for customer feedback, as applicable.

  • Adheres to proper security practices, foreign object damage procedures and airfield driving regulations, as applicable.

  • Operates motor vehicles in accordance with company vehicle policies.

  • Complies with applicable federal, state, United States Air Force (USAF) and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) environmental laws and regulations.

  • Complies with health and safety rules and procedures; performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.

  • Incumbent will at all times wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position and duties.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Accurate, timely, and cost-effective performance of duties.

  • Working harmoniously with customers and fellow co-workers.

  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of all SSI-related matters.

  • Accountable for assigned tools, materials, and equipment.

  • Cleanliness and safety of shop and work areas.

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment within the shops and company vehicles.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the individual to work both inside and outside, sometimes in inclement weather conditions. Ability to lift 50lbs and in some instances more; capable of performing both pushing and pulling motions and other repetitive motions. Requires lifting, prolonged, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling and ability to work in cramped/confined spaces. In addition, the use of ladders may be required, which includes the ability to use/carry ladders, lift and climb ladders of up to 30ft. in length.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Valid Oklahoma State Electrical Journeyman License

  • High school diploma or equivalency.

  • Four (4) years' experience as an Electrician.

  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in condition assessment and advanced maintenance methodologies, as documented by resume and references.

  • Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of PDM tools and advanced predictive maintenance methodologies.

  • Current state driver's license, acceptable driving record and proof of valid insurance. Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licenses/IDs/certifications.

  • Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to adapt to changes in technology and applicable facility/infrastructure codes and standards.

  • Familiarity with facility/infrastructure codes and standards, as applicable.

  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional & courteous manner in diverse situations.

  • Proficiency and knowledge of a variety of hand and power tools.

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Demonstrated working ability read, write, speak and understand English.

  • Desired Job Qualifications:

  • Six (6) years' experience as an Electrician

  • Working knowledge of solid-state and conventional control circuitry

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications

  • Military experience

  • Previous experience working on a military installation

  • Experience working on Tinker facilities

  • Familiarity with military-specific facility/infrastructure codes and standard, as applicable

Necessary Licenses or Certifications:

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician's License

Work Schedule:

  • Full-Time (40 hours per week)

  • Position may require various shifts, which may include Saturdays and Sundays and/or Holidays
