Position Overview:

The primary focus of this role will be to lead projects and oversee and design site development planning and design for both private and public development, to include storm water management design, water and wastewater design, roadway and parking design, grading design, erosion and sediment control design, site due diligence studies, and construction detailing and specifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define and establish project scope, schedule and budget for projects as well as maintain quality control over a project's lifecycle.
  • Outline project objectives and timelines for completion and effectively communicate them to involved parties throughout project.
  • Serve as a point of contact with assigned clients through frequent communication methods and lead project meetings.
  • Lead the preparation of civil engineering project proposals.
  • Manage staff engineers and technicians and assign workloads.
  • Communicate project status and performance to executive leadership.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure adherence with contractual agreements.
  • Assure project documentation and reporting are accurately maintained.
  • Oversee coordination with clients as well as outside agencies and consultants for procurement of sub-consultant needs and jurisdictional reviews.
  • Elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other internal departments.
  • Provide resolution to client and project issues.
  • Responsible for invoicing of clients and tracking accounts receivable monthly.
  • Act as a team resource on complex engineering issues.
  • Develop and grow business relationships with existing client contacts.
  • Motivate team members through the creation of a positive work environment by providing mentoring, coaching, and training to assist in professional development.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering; Masters preferred.
  • 5-10 years professional experience.
  • PE required.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Deltek.
  • Excellent communication and delegation skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage and mentor a team.
