This is where YOU fit in: Navy Exchange Lemoore is in need of a Vending Supervisor to answer the call; a team player who is dedicated to supporting our local Naval community, and operational successes on a day to day basis. You will perform a variety of tasks which includes the oversight of a team of vending associates. This team is essential to keeping the vending operations at our assigned facilities well stocked, clean and functional. Your work will make an impact and support how our organization serves the best customer – our activity duty Military and civilian patrons. So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed? · Supervise associates, establish and implement changes to work schedules to ensure adequate staffing. · Supervise and train subordinates in proper procedures and technical aspects of vending operations. Assures safety and housekeeping rules are followed. · Provide input on the work performance of subordinate staff, approve/disapprove leave requests and coach/counsel employees. · Determine the need for equipment, supplies and ensure that adequate stock is maintained. · Prepare reports including but not limited to statistical and financial data updates. · Conduct periodic inventory of supplies and equipment; determine discrepancies or short and damaged items. Account for all merchandise in stock and transferred items. Communicate any inventory discrepancies to management. · Will be required to drive in the course of their duties. The Qualifiers: · Two years’ experience gained in merchandising, technical or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain knowledge of merchandising and procurement practices. Must possess skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships; and the ability to exercise mature judgement. · May substitute one year of related academic study above the high school leave for 9 months of experience, up to a maximum of four-year bachelors’ degree for three years of general experience. Plus one year of responsible experience which provided a background in: merchandising, operations, vending, maintenance of equipment, inventory levels, customer service, or security and safety measures. · Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to perform job duties. Including motor vehicle safety operation, use of computer and management systems. · Must possess a valid state driver’s license and pass pre-employment criminal, motor vehicle, and federal background check. · Must pass the GSA defensive driving course. · Physical requirements: Regularly lifts and transports moderately heavy objects weighing up to 40 lbs. occasionally handles heavier items with assistance or material handling equipment. Regular walking, bending and reaching required. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience, up to a maximum of four-year bachelor's degree for three years of general experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of responsible experience which provided a background in any of the following: merchandising; operations; vending; maintenance of equipment; inventory levels; customer service; maintaining effective sanitation, security and safety measures, and exempt or nonexempt supervisory experience; or similar work which demonstrated the knowledge, skills and abilities required of the operational area. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regularly lifts and transports moderately heavy objects weighing up to 40 lbs. Occasionally handles heavier items with assistance or material handling equipment. Regular walking, bending, reaching required. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid state driver's license. Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to operate a motor vehicle safely. Must be able to pass appropriate background checks needed for the specific area of responsibility )e.g. Federal DOD Security Clearance etc.) Pass the GSA defensive driving course.
