POSITION: Equipment Operator.

DUTIES: Operates trucks and equipment of various sizes and weights, in loading, hauling, and unloading of various equipment, materials and supplies. Operation of trucks, graders, snowplows, backhoes, and tractors during the winter months to keep roadways cleared during winter months. Salting of roads when appropriate during winter months in accordance with director's discretion. Assists with digging of trenches, grading of roads, and assistance with projects when directed by supervisor. Performs duties in accordance with safety policies and procedures daily. Ability to communicate with mechanics about equipment repairs and maintenance. Performs daily inspections of equipment, keeps equipment clean, and regularly schedules maintenance of heavy equipment. Advancement to this job title employee must have displayed some initiative to supervisors that they are able to perform more tasks, additional duties, and supervisory skills. REQUIREMENTS: Must have the ability to operate heavy equipment.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent is required. A Commercial Driver's License and a valid driver's license is required. Strong work ethic and the ability to establish effective working relationships; Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to strictly follow directions; Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Must meet physical requirements set by the Department of Transportation and pass drug and alcohol screening.

PREFERRED: Heavy equipment operator certification is preferred. Prefer proficient in English and Spanish.

WAGE: Salary is $41,000 to $51,000 annual depending on experience.

SHIFTS: This is a Part-Time to Full-Time position. Days and shifts will primarily be Monday through Friday with hour being between the hours of 6:00 am and 5:00 pm. Days and hours to be discussed at interview.
