Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Blakeslee Air Force Recreation Area. Moderate to heavy physical effort is required. Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds or more, pushing and moving furniture. Must be able to work on hands and knees. Works a combination of indoors and outdoors. In contact with strong cleaning agents. Works on slippery surfaces. Guaranteed 24 hours per week. Responsibilities Responsible to meet daily needs of the recreation housing guest. Guests needs will include but are not limited to a full range of janitorial and housekeeping duties, providing information about both on site and local attractions, recreation opportunities, and events, maintaining a daily inventory of furnishings, reporting maintenance discrepancies and following through until problems are corrected and ensuring areas surrounding lodging are maintained and presentable at all times. Responsible to maintain a specified group of buildings to include: Daily housekeeping duties, thoroughly cleaning kitchens, appliances, trading out and washing laundry, making beds and replacing linen as needed, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, draperies and disinfecting bathrooms and dusting all furniture/flat surfaces. Weekly house keeping duties such as cleaning if windows and blinds, wiping down walls, doors and moldings, vacuuming/sweeping/mopping under beds and behind furniture, cleaning overs, defrosting and wiping down refrigerator, wiping down inside and outside of cabinets, sweeping and cleaning of garages etc. Routinely scheduled cleaning to include but not limited to laundering if bed linens, stripping and waxing floors, cleaning AC/heating vents etc. Daily inventory of furnishings, linens, towels, pots, pans, and dishes. All damages and missing items are to be reported immediately. Reporting maintenance discrepancies through the proper channels. Responsible to monitor the repair of discrepancies and report delayed repairs to supervisor. Ensuring adequate supplies are kept on hand for guests convenience and daily housekeeping requirements. Provides weekly supply requirement to supervisor. Maintaining outdoor areas surrounding facilities to include: keeping trash and debris picked up, flower beds planted, weeded, and watered, sidewalks swept and barbecue grills cleaned. Provides information and advice to recreational guests about facilities, services and programs offered as well as on local attractions, restaurants, recreational opportunities and events.
