GuideOne Insurance Paralegal Assistant - Temporary and Part-time Position - On site Opportunity in IA, United States

As a Paralegal Assistant, you will provide support services and assistance to the Company’s litigation counsel and paralegals. You will perform administrative duties as needed for the department. To be successful in this role, you will be familiar with standard administrative and legal concepts, practices, and procedures. This position relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. This role will be a temporary position for 8-10 weeks up to 30 hours a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to attorneys. Under the direction of an attorney or paralegal may complete routine legal documents and forms.

  • Intakes and processes non-party subpoenas for company.

  • Processes mail and preps it for scanning.

  • Gathers requested information by and through direct supervision.

  • Performs secretarial and administrative duties. Responsibilities will include typing letters, memos and reports, answering phones, filing, printing, redacting, sorting, mailing.

  • Receives and processes legal referrals, set up files.

  • Pays invoices/ orders settlements checks.

  • Maintains attorney biographies and updates website.

  • Calendars, contacts, schedules.

  • Orders office supplies.

  • Other related duties may be assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent written and analytical skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word).

  • Ability to convey clear, concise information to others, using verbal or other appropriate communication techniques.

  • Ability to use commonly-used administrative concepts, practices and procedures.

    Recommended Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or paralegal certificate a plus.

  • Law office experience a plus.

    Compensation: $25 to $35/hour commensurate with experience
