This position will provide quality technical expertise to Quality and Mission Assurance Management in performing oversight of all lifecycle phases including requirements, design, development, testing and programmatic efforts for the Radiation Effects Division (QSR). The role supports resolution plans for identified hardware requirements, design, development, testing and programmatic issues/concerns. In addition, this individual will be supporting program milestone reviews and failure review boards/investigations. The successful candidate will act as an integral part of the team to ensure the goal of delivering quality products and services meet and exceed customer expectations.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Provide engineering, and production quality and mission assurance support within the Missile Defense System (MDS); specifically, within the QSR Program Office, for Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) efforts and legacy systems. Provide insight into implementation and execution of MDA MAP and PMAP requirements on MDA development effort. Provide technical evaluations of Developer designs for subcomponents, assemblies, and integrated systems associated with MDA programs. Provide subject matter expertise for the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of risks associated with various aspects of design, development, manufacturing, fielding and operation of MDA systems. Support product reviews, acceptance, and verifications of hardware and software to Pedigree Reviews, product Acceptance Reviews (PARs), Pre-Ship Reviews, Hardware and Software Acceptance Reviews, First Article Inspections, and hardware and software developmental and qualification testing. Support mission assurance assessments and audits. Activities include (1) planning assessments, conducting assessments, reporting findings, and correcting findings and (2) providing on-site verification and auditing at Developer facilities to ensure that robust controls are in place for quality assurance practices. Leading and executing extensive quality, mission assurance and manufacturing engineering efforts for complex weapon systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices and/or processes for operational programs. Participate in review boards and failure investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions, conduct risk assessments, and validate the adequacy and effective of corrective actions. Work independently or leading teams to solve problems. Witness hardware test activities for mission critical MDS items to identify, address, and report on flaws in test procedures, test set-up, and test configurations. Interface with local DCMA, MDA program engineering, MDA quality technical experts, and supplier engineering, manufacturing, quality and senior management. Travel periodically, approximately once per mont . Position is located at the MDA facility on Redstone Arsenal. Minimum Qualifications:

BA or BS with 10 or more years related experience in quality or mission assurance analyzing missile defense system or DoD weapon systems. Experience in collaborating within small teams representing primarily quality, and mission assurance professional backgrounds. Experience with supporting and assisting the development and execution of policies and requirements. Experience in assessing, auditing, inspecting, and assessing hardware and software configurations for all end item system configurations involving complex aerospace systems across their entire life cycle. Currently possess an active DOD secret security clearance or the ability to obtain prior to start Desired Background:

Ability to quickly connect in-person and in writing, and to actively listen and perceive the needs, values or opinions of others Demonstrated leadership accomplishments professionally and personally Proactivity in identifying and addressing challenges to include innovations that result in positive organizational impact Supplier quality management experience assessing/evaluating mission critical hardware and/or software and investigating root cause of failures and/or nonconformances Knowledge of Parts, Materials, and Processes (PMP) is a plus but not required. Background in MDA, GMD, or DoD missile defense systems Proficient at communicating complex topics clearly and concisely via both oral and written mediums.
