The AWS World Wide Public Sector Federal Delivery Organization is looking for a Task Order Manager to support our Department of Defense (DoD)4 business. The FDO ensures contractual delivery and enables the growth of the business by managing the growing portfolio of prime contracts for AWS to provide cloud services to government customers.

This position is based in the Arlington, VA/Washington Metro Area (WMA). You will join a cadre of program management and technical business development professionals in pursuing new and overseeing existing US Government contract requirements, milestones, and deliverables. As a Task Order Manager, you will spend time facilitating AWS in shaping, responding to, and executing Task Orders on DoD Contracts. You will manage a portfolio of Task Orders and act as the program manager for those customers.

The role requires subject matter expertise in the areas of project management, program management and technical business development experience. This expertise will be utilized to incorporate technical requirements into commercial transactions, effectively structure, facilitate, and close deals, as well as manage tactical program activities in accordance with existing contract performance criteria. You will draw upon extensive information technology centric project management, critical thinking, and analytic problem solving skills coupled with business development and executive communication skills with government customers.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen, must have current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of customer task orders supporting assigned DoD Agencies or Military Department

  • Build and maintain relationships with task order COR/COTRs

  • Coordinate all task order activities with respective AWS Contract Program Manager, business contracts, and respective account teams

  • Support AWS Contract Program Manager with task order data required for contract level deliverables

  • Responsible for all deliverables at the task order level

A day in the life

You will work across AWS’ World Wide Public Sector to apply your technical, business, and program management expertise to solve complex and challenging problems for the DoD.

You will manage a portfolio of customer task orders (TO) awarded under a $9B IDIQ contract. As a TO manager, you will operate in an ambiguous and changing environment, while monitoring the health of customer’s task order (financial management, requirements management, risk management, etc.).

You understand the customer’s AWS lifecycle and drive detailed discussions seeking alignment to deliver maximum contract value with internal AWS stakeholders, customer contracting officer representatives, and customer program managers.

About the team

The Department of Defense (DoD) Portfolio Team within Federal Delivery Organization (FDO) performs collaborative program management for DoD customers to drive cloud adoption across DoD and the Defense Industry.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Arlington, VA, USA | Herndon, VA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above

  • 3+ years supporting programs under the National Industrial Security Program, and/or with the US DoD or Intelligence Community

  • 3+ years of experience working across multiple business functions including capture, proposal, account teams, and technical delivery.

  • 3+ years of experience communicating with business, technical, and executive customers.

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited university (or equivalent work experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting customers in leveraging cloud technology

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to translate technical concepts to government executives

  • Demonstrated ability to manage the capture and execution of a portfolio of multiple government contracts with a variety of customers
