The Test Specialist is responsible for providing test capabilities, that include the application of instrumentation and the acquisition of engineering test data to support the Gas Turbine New Products Introduction Department, the Gas Turbine Engineering Department, and the other departments of in the development of new gas turbine products and resolution of Power System’s customer technical complaints.

Job Description

  • The Test Specialist is responsible for the hardware modification process, ensuring correct instrumentation methodology is followed by Technicians and suppliers.

  • Assisting in the development and documentation of Hardware Modifications Processes.

  • Operation of all instrumentation and data systems required to conduct gas turbine engineering development tests. This requires the knowledge and applicable experience with instrumentation used in the measurement of temperature, pressure, dynamic pressure, strain, and other related parameters associated with gas turbine development tests.

  • Responsible for execution of laboratory and field validation testing, inspection and data acquisition for use in the design and validation of products and services typically does not require Engineering degree

  • Responsible for design and construction of test facilities, test rigs, instrumentation systems and the development of test software

  • Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.

  • Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

  • May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.

  • Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.

  • Develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.

Basic Qualifications/Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Engineering Technology

  • 2 Year working Gas Turbine applying NPI Instrumentation; setup and operation of Dynamic Data System

Other Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability to travel to world wide customer test sites (up to 30% travel)

  • 4 Years Military Experience in Aircraft Maintenance

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this profile PB Level position is $72,000.00 - 110,000.00 USD Annual.

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, geographic location, and skill set.

This position is also eligible for a 5% annual performance bonus. This position will stay open on the career website until at least 06/15/2024 The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%,120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
