job summary:
Electrical Design Standards Engineer opportunities with a client located in the Northeastern U.S. These hybrid work remote positions will be responsible to work closely with internal and external engineers, designers and drafters in the support of engineering design standards relative to substation design and construction. responsibilities:
Ensure design and construction drawing support a safe setting for company personnel, contractors and the public
Work closely with external engineering firms, vendors, equipment manufacturers and consultants to ensure standards are being met
Review manufacturers drawings for compliance with specifications
Ensure standards and equipment specifications are up to date and accurate
Review existing materials, components and design standards for process improvement and cost savings
Perform other standards related duties as requested or assigned
Qualifications:
BS Degree from an ABET accredited institution (EE, Mechanical, Civil, etc)
Technical knowledge ideally in the power industry (will consider translatable experience from oil & gas, heavy industrial or similar)
Experience working with relays, controls and similar would be a big plus
Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or AutoCAD Electrical is helpful
Strategically and technically minded with the ability and influence to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
