We value diversity and base all employment decisions on qualifications, merit, and business need. ​​​​​JOB SUMMARY The System Engineer II is responsible for providing technical support, resolving complex system issues and collaborating with users and departments to implement requests and assess information system needs. This role works to achieve operational targets under general supervision. Requires the ability to influence others by explaining facts, policies and practices. Problems faced may be difficult but generally not complex. Demonstrates integrity, accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture. RESPONSIBILITIES Typical job responsibilities of the SYSTEM ENGINEER II include: • Maintain and update record-keeping system, document projects and write and maintain user instructions (Knowledge Base). • Perform the installation, configuration and maintenance of computers, workstations and other related equipment/devices. • Conduct system backups and ensure data integrity. • Assist in software deployments, updates and patches. • Maintain server patching schedule and reports; proactively remediate any failed server security patches. • Respond to logic monitor alerts pertaining to operating system level issues, storage or Windows errors. • Perform moderately advanced technological systems support, maintenance and testing for proper upkeep of systems; troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex system hardware, software and network failures/conflicts. • Participate in research and development initiatives and aid in the implementation of new technologies. • Serve as project member on technology projects with moderate scope and impact. • Perform other duties as required. REQUIRED SKILLS • Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues, and regulatory requirements. • Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking and communications. • Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting in Cloud, Windows and general office network environment. • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses insights from digital tools to improve performance. • Ability to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Advanced interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills. • Demonstrated attention to detail, organization and prioritization skills. • Demonstrated cognitive and problem-solving skills. • Growth mindset with a demonstrated ability to innovate, embrace change and have grit. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • Associate or bachelor's degree required. • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS • Microsoft, AWS, Azure, other technical related certifications desired. PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS • This position is located at BKV’s Fort Worth, Texas office. • Indoor working environment that requires the ability to perform repetitive motions and operate standard office equipment. • May occasionally be exposed to distracting noise while sharing office space with others.
