U.S. Army Cyber Command Records and Information Management Specialist (FOIA/PII) in Fort Meade, Maryland

Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. You may need to complete a 3 year probationary period, if applicable. This position is with 7th Signal Command, located at Fort Meade, Maryland. Responsibilities Provide direction, control, and policy guidance related to assigned elements of functional disciplines involving records management. Establish and maintain information standards within the assigned area of responsibility that comply with the information policies, standards, and guidance of higher headquarters. Work to build records management functionality into the command enterprise architecture and ensure command information systems incorporate records management functionality. Analyze and evaluate FOIA/PA requests and determines relevant 7th SC (T) offices that could have responsive documents. Consult with program officials about concerns they may have about release of those records.. Serve as the primary consultant and Command Privacy Officer on all PII activities for 7th SC(T). Assist senior leadership in driving organization in desired direction, fosters cultural change, provides recommendations or options to institutionalize PII processes, and educates leadership and employees about PII requirements and benefits. Provide consultation and instruction to functional area users on file accessing techniques, search strategies, processing and space utilization efficiencies, security procedures, backup and program recovery techniques, and testing techniques. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by recommending and integrating technical configurations of upgraded information systems; assisting in the planning, implementing, and enforcing the command's Records Information Management Services Program; reviewing and/or recommending approval for new or renewed Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) for command systems; and assisting with implementing standardized records management policies and procedures to monitor compliance. Education Additional Information This position is in the Professional Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.
