About the Position:

This dynamic position is responsible for seeking out and creating opportunities for landscape scale collaboration and partnership. The incumbent develops, plans, and manages programs, projects, and initiatives that leverage the combined financial resources and capabilities of local, state, federal, and tribal government agencies, and non-profit organizations to support a shared stewardship program that crosses multiple administrative units, jurisdictions, and land ownerships.  The incumbent serves as agent for change management helping the staff accept collaboration and partnerships as a way of achieving success, while also maintaining strong and productive relationships with partners that promote frictionless collaboration. The position is also responsible for working closely with the Forest Leadership Team and District personnel to identify critical needs across the Forest that impact the ability to implement the program of work and then align partner funding and capacity to help address those needs. This position is instrumental to identifying innovative solutions, that balance risk management, process changes, and optimal blends of multiple authorities.

Incumbent serves as a key member of the Forest Leadership Team to formulate plans, policies, and objectives for the Forest.  Provides recommendations and information to the Forest Supervisor concerning important natural resources and the administrative roles, process changes, and strategic investments of personnel and resources necessary for those programs, including budget.  Makes recommendations and provides information concerning dependent communities and industry and effective means of engaging them.  Informs and justifies to the Forest Supervisor the implementation and execution of the Forest Plan for the assigned programs.
