Eaton Corporation Regional Sales & Application Engineer in El Paso, Texas

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Regional Sales & Application Engineer. This role is able to be executed remotely with a focus on El Paso, TX and travel being up to 25% of the time.

The Regional Sales & Application Engineer will be responsible for the achievement of Panelboard and Switchboard product line sales and margin objectives for the assigned region and/or segment. This includes the development and administration of sales plans to grow the business. In this role, you will be the dedicated Regional Sales & Application Engineer to provide support for the Gulf region. You will also support training for the sales team, distributors, and satellites.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

  • Be a commercial & technical resource for the product line, including answering complex customer or field sales questions.

  • Provide technical product training for the North American Sales team, project management, etc.

  • Prepare written materials in response to customer requests including requests for proposal (RFP) and marketing literature.

  • Support the development of the sales strategy and plans for the assigned regions.

  • Forecast projected sales opportunities for budgeting and performance purposes.

  • Identify and grow key accounts/relationships in existing and new customer organizations.

  • Partner with key business development resources (i.e., business development managers and regional marketing managers) to ensure that they understand the activities in the region to optimize sales and profits.

  • Attend project kick-off, project coordination meetings, on-board drawing reviews and/or witness testing as product expert based on needs of the project.

  • Coordinate with the Regional Sales and Application Engineers to communicate regional/segment information to leadership on competitive activities, develop and execute marketing plans and provide customer/market voice of customer input.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Three (3) years in sales, marketing or engineering with customer facing experience.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business from an accredited institution

  • 3 years of technical sales, marketing or application engineering experience in power distribution or electrical industry

  • Basic understanding of electricity

  • Basic understanding of established design standards and their application within power distribution and control systems.

  • Experience with Panelboard and Switchboard Solutions

  • Experience with AutoCAD

  • Experience with Project Management

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical critical thinking skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Additional Information:

Expected to work with independence and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting needs and expectations of internal and external customers. Must be able to successfully manage multiple priorities, analyze complex problems and implement solutions.

Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel at all management, professional, and technical levels. This position requires responsiveness and problem solving to reinforce enterprise wide goal of providing world class customer satisfaction. Strong commercial sense for customer interaction, commercial transactions, and selling/pricing policies required. Must be an initiative-taker with strong multi-tasking and time management skills.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; reach at or above shoulder level; grip; and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop; lift; carry; push; pull; and grip. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to thirty-five pounds. The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than thirty-five pounds. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to listen and to talk.
