Scope of Job

To perform advanced program administration, development and coordination. Responsible for all phases of program development and coordination of program activities.

Description of Duties

  • Administers, coordinates and manages activities involved in assigned program or projects.

  • Develops and implements standards for attainment of program goals and objectives.

  • Maintains frequent interaction with University departments, special groups and external agencies in administering the program.

  • Recommends new policies and procedures for improvement of program activities.

  • Coordinates staff training and development.

  • Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance.

  • Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedures written material and documentation.

  • Conducts marketing assessment for assigned area.

  • Creates and reviews reports of expenditures and activities.

  • Oversees financial management of all program activities.

  • Determines work priorities.

  • Works on special projects as assigned.

  • Attends professional development seminars.

  • Develops, cultivates, and maintains collaborative working relationships with representatives from over 500 partner school campuses across a 13-county region.

  • Supervises all the administrative and operational functions of the program while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and quality of services. This includes State and Federally funded activities.

  • Supervises assigned CORE and ARPA personnel including Program Coordinator, TCHATT School Liaisons, Medical Assistants, Patient Services Representatives, and Program Assistant.

  • Develops and implements standards for attainment of program goals and objectives. Including ARPA and CORE projects.

  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations from State and Federal funders.

  • Represents the University and program in internal and external meetings (including meetings with State and Federal funders).

  • Works alongside department administrator in the financial management of CORE and ARPA activities and spending of funds according to institutional and funder regulations.

  • Reports progress towards metrics to State and Federal funders.

  • Develops and fosters relationships with local agencies/clinics, LMHAs, community-based organizations.

  • Supervises the installation and ongoing maintenance of over 500 telehealth stations installed on school campuses across 13 counties.

  • Ensures program data is documented in Trayt as required by regulatory agencies, policies, and procedures.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration, Public Health Administration, Business Administration or degree related to social sciences from an accredited University.

Preferred Education

Master’s Degree in a related field from an accredited University.

Licenses/Certifications

None.

Required Experience

  • Five (5) years of experience performing closely related duties, including program planning/coordination or related experience in the field of healthcare or business administration,or

  • Three (3) years of the required experience with a Master’s degree,or

  • Seven (7) years of the required experience with an Associate Degree or 60 hours of College Credit,or

  • Nine (9) years of the required experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Experience

Experience in contract negotiations.

Equipment

Use of personal computer and other standard office equipment.

Working Conditions

Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and weekend work is required. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Occasional travel for professional development, conferences, and other job-related events.
