The position will support SCAT laboratories, including operating SCAT rigs, developing new testing protocols, and performing rig troubleshooting and maintenance. This person will be responsible for supporting TWC, DOC, SCR/ASC, and CNG developments and applications. This position presents a great amount of exposure to people from various groups and departments. Thus, it requires a person with excellent communication skills, as well as technical, interpersonal, and motivational skills.

Your responsibilities:

  • Performing routine and non-routine reactor testing. Communicating results with the program sponsors.

  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, evaluating, and maintaining the chemical reactors, analytical instruments, laboratory equipment.

  • Identifying and implementing improvement plans for existing laboratory processes.

  • Completing administrative duties and documentation, including SCAT log books, rig flow schematics, electrical panel drawings, and instrument manuals.

  • Following safety procedures and exhibiting safety practice at work.

  • Performing other laboratory duties as assigned.

Requirements for the role:

  • BS degree with 2-3 years working experience in science with strong mechanical aptitude or BS degree with 2-3 years working experience in engineering with analytical skills. Formal training and education may be also considered in lieu of above 7 years direct experience in hands-on chemical laboratory.

  • Demonstrated experience in designing, fabricating, constructing, testing, plumbing and validating custom lab equipment and hardware.

  • Proficiency in metal and composite part fabrication, with working experience and knowledge AC/DC electrical and circuit diagnostics.

  • Computer software skills on Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. Knowledge on any programming language is a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Creativity in solving technical problems.

  • Ability to work independently as well as to work in a team.

  • Good time management skills with the ability to multitask.
