Apple Maps is looking for a data toolkit analyst/engineer with a passion and dedication to great products, services, and customer experiences. The ideal candidate will be one with substantive professional experience working with modern data tools and has a deep understanding of how to use data to solve problems. Our content group here is at the nexus of engineering, operations, and product, with an eye towards constantly improving the quality of the map. * Deep-dive on a huge variety of data issues and provide answers to stakeholders * Setup re-usable scripts and queries for common inquiries * Build data dashboards for data inventory, conditions, and issues * ETL on datasets with different data structures * Advise stakeholders on the best approaches to data analysis * Collaborate to build and improve data-based processes

Description

You will work throughout the Content & Cartography organization to consult and advise stakeholders on the best approaches and practices to solve challenging data issues in our map. This includes conducting wide-ranging ad-hoc analysis, building or improving key processes, helping upskill and mentor others, collaborating with engineering to craft our modern data platform, and many other challenges. You are able to account for a number of information sources, dive into existing code and workflows and coordinate improvements. You will also contribute to building tools and infrastructure which support both core analysis activities and end-to-end data testing. Automating regular tasks and creating utilities for internal customers will be a key focus. You should be able to jump into a complex problem with many stakeholders and find the right things to focus on, drive, and own. An important part of this role is the ability to take an ambiguous problem, understand it deeply, and provide structure to solve it. You should have excellent communication and teamwork skills, combined with the maturity and initiative to deliver results. Minimum Qualifications

Key Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or data engineering.

• Experience working with large spatial datasets.

• Ability to assimilate various data sources for analysis.

• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

• Ability to cut through ambiguity and bring structure to technical topics.

• Experience working with data in Python or SQL.

• Nice to have: ML experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Education & Experience

Any professional data-focused degree or equivalent work experience.

• At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $134,000 and $266,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
