POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated Machine Operator/Preventive Maintenance Technician to join our team. This hybrid role requires an individual with a strong technical aptitude towards maintenance procedures, coupled with experience operating complex machinery within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production equipment while adhering to strict quality standards.

JOB SUMMARYPerforms semi-routine equipment set-up, operation, and adjustment under minimal supervision.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Machine Operation:

o Operate various types of machinery involved in the manufacturing process, including but not limited to automated assembly equipment, printing equipment, and automatic riveters.o Monitor machine performance as necessary to maintain product quality and production efficiency.o Answer alarms for equipment malfunctions and perform minor jam clearing.o Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standard operating procedures while operating machinery.

  1. Preventive Maintenance:

o Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on production equipment according to established procedures and schedules.o Conduct inspections, lubrication, and calibration of machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.o Identify and address potential issues before they result in equipment downtime or failure with equipment maintenance techs.o Document maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and any abnormalities observed.

  1. Collaboration:

o Coordinate with the Production Leads as well as the Maintenance Supervisor and Equipment Maintenance Techs and other team members to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize disruptions to production schedules.o Communicate effectively with engineering and maintenance teams to report equipment issues.o Provide input for continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, maintenance procedures, and production efficiency.

  1. Compliance:

o Adhere to regulatory requirements and company policies related to equipment maintenance, safety, and documentation.o Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including EAM, maintenance schedules, and equipment history.o Participate in training programs to stay updated on relevant technologies, procedures, and regulatory changes.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Performs equipment set-up, operation, and adjustment for corresponding difficulty of product.

  • Coordinates with other team members to set up machines according to set-up sheets.

  • Ensures board loader and feeders are continually kept loaded with the correct parts, and prepares for next part run by loading feeders for next run before needed.

  • Monitor machine rejects to assure that parts are being sorted and ran on a daily basis.

  • Ensures processes and equipment remain within acceptable company manufacturing standards.

  • Performs quality auditing, testing, and basic machine troubleshooting functions.

  • Ensure that assigned area is clean and organized.

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONSKNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required job related certifications and training.

  • High school diploma or equivalent recommended but not required with mechanical ability and aptitude to follow instructions written and verbal

  • Experience in machine operation, or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to maintain machinery.

  • Familiarity with maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring instruments.

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to machine operation and maintenance.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime as needed to support production schedules.
