Job Title: Knowledge Manager
Job Summary:
This position is in support of the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA). Working for the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) involves providing crucial technical support and innovation for cutting-edge tactical systems utilized by the Marine Corps, contributing directly to the effectiveness and efficiency of military operations.
Responsibilities Include:
Developing and implementing knowledge management strategies, processes, and systems to support MCTSSA's transition to the new STRL personnel management model
Analyzing information and knowledge requirements related to the STRL personnel system implementation, including policies, regulations, best practices, and lessons learned
Designing and maintaining taxonomies, metadata standards, and content organization schemes for STRL-related knowledge assets
Implementing and managing knowledge repositories, portals, and collaboration platforms to facilitate knowledge sharing and access
Developing knowledge capture, curation, and dissemination processes to ensure accurate and timely flow of information
Coordinating with subject matter experts, project teams, and stakeholders to identify, collect, and synthesize relevant knowledge assets
Establishing mechanisms for continuous learning, knowledge transfer, and changing management related to the STRL system
Providing training and guidance to personnel on knowledge management practices, tools, and resources
Analyzing usage metrics and gather feedback to enhance the effectiveness of knowledge management initiatives
Ensuring compliance with knowledge management policies, data governance standards, and information security requirements
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Knowledge Management, Library Science, or a related field
5+ years of experience in knowledge management, preferably in a human resources or personnel management context
Strong understanding of knowledge management principles, strategies, and best practices
Expertise in designing and implementing knowledge management systems, repositories, and collaboration platforms
Knowledge of taxonomies, metadata standards, content organization, and information architecture
Proficient in data analysis, information synthesis, and reporting
Excellent communication, training, and facilitation skills
Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Familiarity with agile methodologies, project management, and change management principles
Proven track record in developing and executing successful knowledge management initiatives
Experience with implementing knowledge management solutions in cloud environments (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint)
Background in designing and delivering training programs on knowledge management practices and tools
Familiarity with human resources policies, regulations, and personnel management frameworks
Knowledge of data governance, information security, and compliance requirements
Experience in gathering and analyzing user feedback and usage metrics to optimize knowledge management efforts
Work Setting and Environment:
Monday - Friday, normal working hours
Work is to be performed at Camp Pendleton, CA
