Cannon Design Technology Engineering Designer - Entry Level in Buffalo, New York
- Participates in the preparation of construction documents and basic specifications of telecommunications systems for building construction.
- Under direct supervision, may design telecommunication systems for healthcare, education/higher education and commercial clients, including fire alarm systems per applicable codes.
- Develop ability to analyze engineering documents and layout systems in regard to components and parts with engineering oversight.
- Under supervision develop knowledge of applicable codes for the application of telecommunication design.
- Recommend improvements with reference standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and to streamline production efforts.
- Assists in the review and markup of shop drawings and submittals.
- Assists in gathering information to respond to RFI's and review of change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
- Assists in visiting job site to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress. Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site.
- May perform other duties as required.
ABOUT YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Audio Systems, Information Technology or a related field required by hire date.
- Related student internship work experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
- Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit for design of data/voice, audio/video and electronic security systems preferred.
