DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

The North American Real Estate Finance Group (NAREFG) is responsible for identifying, underwriting, procuring, and managing high quality commercial real estate loans on behalf of the company’s operations and private markets in both the United States and Canada and on behalf of external clients.

As of yearend 2023, the NAREFG portfolio consisted of over 1,500 loans with an outstanding principal balance of USD$25 billion.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The NAREFG Portfolio Management Team is seeking an Analyst/Senior Analyst based in the Boston, MA office. The candidate will report to one of the team’s senior managers, work closely with other analysts on the team, and take on a variety of the team’s many portfolio management, pricing, analytical and reporting responsibilities.

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

The Portfolio Management Team’s responsibilities include producing reporting for a broad range of internal and external audiences. The Analyst will assume ownership of many of these reporting functions. The Analyst will understand who is using the data and why and be able to leverage this understanding and network to improve products and processes.

The Portfolio Management Team is also responsible for developing, maintaining, disseminating, and continuously improving analytical and pricing models. The Analyst will be expected to learn the concepts and mechanics underpinning the models, so that, with experience, they will be able to scrutinize results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Calculate & prepare reporting for: pricing spreads, portfolio summaries, transaction summaries, capital requirements, total return, compliance, & industry survey reporting

  • Operate various pricing models maintained by Portfolio Management including: target spread, yield maintenance, option pricing, premiums pricing, custom pricing

  • Prepare analyses for presentations for internal & external senior audiences

  • Assist in allocating investments to clients and lines of business

  • Help maintain Portfolio Management’s production database

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferably in Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, or Business

  • Progress toward CFA preferred

  • Technical/Programing experience preferred

  • Relevant industry experience preferred

  • Experience with the various applications of the Microsoft Office Suite as well as an aptitude for learning new applications

  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg analytics and data export functionality, as well as other software tools

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/priorities concurrently and meet strict deadlines

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Salary range is expected to be between

$58,875.00 USD - $98,125.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
