Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Birmingham, Alabama

Description

We are seeking a strong Accounting Clerk for a client of ours in the Pinson, AL area. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department with various accounting and administrative tasks. You will be responsible for accurately maintaining financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and providing support to the accounting team as needed. This is an immediate contract-to-hire opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and reconciling statements.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Prepare and distribute financial reports, including monthly statements, expense reports, and budget variance analysis.

• Assist with payroll processing, including data entry, verification, and distribution of paychecks.

• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial statement preparation.

• Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.

• Provide administrative support to the finance department, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents

Skills:

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing, Data Entry, Invoice Processing, and Microsoft Excel

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

• Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Billing procedures

• Skilled in Data Entry tasks

• Familiarity with Invoice Processing

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Previous experience in an Accounting Clerk role

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred

• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

• Strong numerical skills and ability to work with complex financial data

• Familiarity with accounting software and digital tools.
