Energy Efficiency Outreach Manager

Program Implementation

Location: Montgomery County, Maryland (Remote – Home Office with Local Travel)

ICF is seeking an Account Manager to take a significant role in the implementation of commercial energy efficiency programs in (TBD) Maryland. The selected candidate will be responsible for recruiting new participants into the programs as well as managing a pipeline of existing energy efficiency projects. The candidate will call on customers and contractors in an assigned service territory with the goal of increasing the number of energy efficiency projects and participation in utility incentive programs. What you will be doing:

  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with major local, national, and regional distributors, suppliers, and manufacturers to support their participation in the programs

  • Cultivate and develop new relationships and partnerships with trade allies and professional organizations to ensure program awareness and adoption

  • Maintain strong ongoing communications with participants and other interested stakeholders in order to assess their needs and to receive feedback on their experience with the program

  • Preparing and presenting targeted presentations as well as promoting program awareness and participation at trade shows, trade organization and stakeholder events, supply house counter days, as well as any industry recognized associations.

  • Assist multiply program managers with the development and implementation of promotional strategies

  • Prepare ongoing status reports to document performance and activities demonstrating progress towards program goals, contractor/consultant participation and pipeline management

  • Provide QA/QC data to the client

  • Support internal operations and management of the programs, with tasks such as reporting, application review, forecasting, marketing development, and client support

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in (Business Admin, Energy, Communication or related field) and

  • 2+ years of experience managing successful energy efficiency opportunities, with specific experience in one of the following: HVAC contractors, distributors, commercial real-estate, federal government or retail customers. OR

  • 4+ years of related work experience in one of the following: HVAC contractors, distributors, commercial real-estate, federal government or retail customers. AND

  • Must have valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check

  • Must have a reliable vehicle for local travel. Requirements are between 30% to 60% of the time. (reimbursement for mileage provided)

What we would like you to have:

  • Strong proven success in an outside sales role and/or business development

  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Dynamics, Word, Outlook, Excel)

  • Strong follow-up and follow through skills and ability to successfully close sales

  • An energy efficiency background with a solid knowledge of building mechanical systems or commercial lighting

  • Economic analysis and familiarity with DSM program planning and evaluation

  • Utility experience and understanding of DSM program implementation

  • High degree of self-confidence, determination, and motivated to excel

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under strict deadlines

  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities without diminished effectiveness

  • Ability to work with all levels of internal employees, as well as outside clients and vendors

  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$59,469.00 - $101,098.00
