Johns Hopkins University Tenure-track positions in Electrical & Computer Engineering in Baltimore, Maryland

Johns Hopkins University recently announced a major new investment (https://engineering.jhu.edu/news/major-investment-in-the-power-promise-of-data-science-artificial-intelligence/) in data science and the exploration of artificial intelligence. The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (https://engineering.jhu.edu/ece/) is embarking on an aggressive hiring effort for multiple tenure-track positions. We are interested in excellent candidates whose research falls into one of the following research areas:

  • Image processing, computer vision, and machine learning with applications to medical imaging.

  • Neural engineering , including sensors, actuators, and processing architectures for understanding, repairing, and enhancing peripheral or central nervous system circuits.

  • Speech and language technologies and applications, including healthcare and education.

  • M achine learning and artificial intelligence, with special interests in embodied AI, continual and multimodal learning, and autonomous navigation.

    The Department of Electrical & Computer has 26 full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members, 7 research and 2teaching faculty members, 130 PhD students, over 80 MSE students, and 120 undergraduate students. Opportunities for collaboration with numerous research centers and institutes (https://engineering.jhu.edu/research/centers-institutes/) within the Whiting School of Engineering (https://engineering.jhu.edu/) are possible and encouraged.

    The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in electrical or computer engineering or a related field and will be expected to contribute to the growth of the Electrical & Computer engineering program, develop an independent research program, secure research funding, and teach courses in the electrical & computer engineering area.
