Job Title: General Clerk I - Mail Clerk - Department: Source America Reports To: Mail Center Supervisor Location: 1700 N. Wheeling St, Aurora, CO 80045 (Rocky Mountain Regional VAMC) Hours: 7:30 - 4:00 pm Monday-Friday FLSA Status: Hourly Part time / full time Salary: $18.44/hour + $4.41 H&W Schedule: Monday through Friday Updated: 2/5/2024 SUMMARY: Performs various duties related to sorting and distributing mail and packages. Meters outgoing mail and packages according to VA Hospital and US Postal procedures. Delivers mail and packages to specific departments as required twice daily. Assists in the reproduction of various forms for the VA Medical Center as assigned. In addition, will perform and oversee computer data downloads, loading, printing and stuffing of documents. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Sort incoming mail per name or department listed on label and place in the appropriate mail box. Load mail carts using proper loading procedures. Double check to insure accuracy. Deliver mail and packages using prescribed delivery route. Upon returning from mail route, unload mail cart of outgoing mail and small packages for metering. Alert Supervisors if any complaints about service are received and if any department refuses any packages or mail. Sort, scan, label, and deliver packages to individuals or departments, using proper mailroom procedures. Alert Supervisors if any department refuses any packages. Using proper VA Medical Center procedures and US Postal regulations meter all outgoing envelopes and packages for pickup by the Postal Service. Prepare all Certified Letters and Certified Packages for pickup by metering them and preparing the outgoing manifest. As assigned, reproduce various copy jobs for departments using the appropriate duplicating machine. At all times, display top quality customer service skills towards VA Medical Staff and Patients. Dress, speech, and behavior must be professional and a positive representation of Bayaud Industries at all times. Perform other duties or tasks not mentioned above as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Use of a Smart Phone and/or simple use of a computer for payroll purposes. Professional behavior Communication

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Highschool education/GED equivalent preferred but not needed. LANGUAGE SKILLS English as a first or second language preferred but not required. Reading skills required MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Basic mathematic skills preferred but not needed. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form preferred. Mechanical aptitude a plus CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None required.
