Supply Technician

SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (location Arlington, Va)

Duties and Responsibilities: Performs warehousing duties which involve receiving, unloading, checking, storing, testing, issuing, and delivery. May be required to operate forklift truck as an integral part of performing warehousing duties. Performs first echelon maintenance such as checking tires, water, oil, propane, leaks, etc., and reports any necessary maintenance beyond that which can be performed by the operator.

  • Conducts warehouse inventories, maintaining tally listings during the count. Assists in determining the reasons for shortages or misplaced items. Maintains running record of inventory balance. Matches, checks, and compares physical equipment count in country bins with quantity numbers in the data base.

  • Compares material identification and contents physical characteristics to documentation accompanying material.

  • Checks items for obvious signs of condition such as dents, broken and missing parts, and corrosion.

  • Assures all documentation accompanying material is complete and accurate.

  • Complies with established safety, environmental, equipment use and security requirements due-in and due-out accounting; corrects error and exception documents; reviews and verifies quantities received against bills of lading, contracts, purchase requests, and shipping documents; unloads, unpacks, visually inspects, counts, segregates, palletizes, and stores incoming supplies and equipment; maintains stock locator system and administers document control procedures; repairs and constructs fiber board and wood containers; packs, crates, stencils, weighs, and bands equipment and supplies; constructs bins, shelving, and other storage aids; processes requests and turn-in documents as direct support level through warehousing section; processes inventories, surveys, and warehousing documents; prepares, annotates and distributes shipping documents; and operates material handling equipment (MHE).

  • Maintains records of all deliveries and reports hazardous conditions/problems encountered during delivery to the project or program managers.

Minimum Qualifications: Supply Technicians shall have the following education, experience, and military background unless otherwise approved in advance by the Program Director, ACOTA.

Experience : Minimum three (3) years of warehouse or logistics experience related to overseas shipping. Experience as a Property Accounting Technician with experience in retail supply activity functions, storage and warehouse functions. Minimum three (3) years Former Senior NCO or civilian equivalent. Knowledge of CORE IMS Warehouse Management System
