Description

TechOp Solutions International, a reputable Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business that serves Federal, state, local, and private/commercial organizations in the defense and space industry, is looking for a skilled Senior FOIA Analyst. The ideal candidate will join the dynamic TechOp team headquartered in Washington, DC, and support TechOp's clients with the release of information under the Freedom of Information Act.

Responsibilities

  • Support TechOp's clients with the release of information under the Freedom of Information Act
  • Determine the scope of requests, conduct research, identify responsive data, and provide advice and guidance to requesters
  • Draft correspondence tasking other offices to complete actions required for processing requests
  • Analyze records received and determine if outside equity or additional internal coordination is required prior to release of the documents
  • Review and process documents for release in response to requests, including redaction review and preparation of substantive and non-substantive responses
  • Coordinate with program offices and other stakeholders to obtain records and clarify responses
  • Manage and control all physical and electronic records maintained by the FOIA program
  • Create and maintain accurate records of FOIA requests and progress
  • Respond in a timely manner to both internal and external inquiries and provide excellent customer service :::

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field 5+ years of experience
  • Advance knowledge of all nine (9) FOIA exemptions and how to apply them
  • Experience with FOIA database and the ability to run reports to analyze performance
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret FOIA legislation and apply it to specific cases
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a background investigation
