Amazon Risk Specialist, Global Service Compliance in Arlington, Virginia

Description

We are seeking a stellar Risk Specialist to join the Global Service Compliance (GSC) team supporting Amazon’s Project Kuiper. Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities

Working closely with the business, legal, engineering, and other teams, you will develop out-of-this-world strategies for handling compliance obligations in creative, business-centric ways that allow Kuiper to move quickly. As a Risk Specialist for Kuiper GSC, you will contribute to the development of critical policy and procedure documentation and data repositories that support Kuiper service launches, operations, and compliance.

To be successful in this role, you must possess deep analytical thinking and be comfortable managing multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced environment. You will work efficiently both independently and with teammates, and routinely deliver results on time. You will also think in terms of immediate problem solving but also automating, expanding, and scaling solutions broadly.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ policy, process, and procedure experience

  • 1+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • 1+ years’ experience developing and implementing risk management strategies and processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Organization, project management, and strategic planning skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
