Logisitcs Specialist

Reports To: Deputy Chief of Team – Logistics

PAE is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Logistics Specialist. The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for the overall operation and management of the logistics department. Potential applicants must be willing to live and work in Kabul, Afghanistan for the period of performance. The duties and responsibilities listed herein are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.


  • Ensures all work required is carried out in a satisfactory manner.

  • Adhere to the procedures, guidelines, regulations, policies, directives, plans and instructions established for the effective operation the Logistics Department.

  • Communicate effectively with subordinates and support staff.

  • Develop updates and maintains plans for transportation.

  • Ensures all required reports and correspondence are submitted.

  • Ensure that all PAE plans and procedures are being followed and performed.

  • Schedules, hosts, and/or attends meetings and working groups.


  • Familiar with procurement and international customs processes, import / export regulations, to include freight forwarding / handler procedures.

  • Good organizational skills, ability to work under pressure and working to deadlines;

  • Knowledge of OH&S policies and related experience essential Hands-on and not afraid of hard work in a fast-paced environment;

  • Good leadership/interpersonal skills essential in this responsible, challenging role;

  • Strong management, motivation and supervisory skills as well as a team player;

  • Proactive self-starter with initiative

  • Experience with Import and Export of goods to and from the US to include Schedule B number classification and customs requirements.

  • Supervisory experience including coaching, training and motivating a team.

  • Proven ability to analyze complex transportation issues, prioritize workload, train all level of personnel, manage multiple teams, monitor performance and create effective reports on related activities.

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)


  • Education: Bachler’s degree is preferred

  • Experience: Four (4) years of logistics experience and in-country experience preferred.

  • Security Vetting: Must be able to qualify for an MRPT (Moderate Risk for Public Trust) security vetting designation. Must maintain eligibility at the required security level for the duration of the contract.

  • Language Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, with all levels of employees and vendors.

  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required for this position

  • Medical : Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination
