Job Summary
The Central Monitoring Technician monitors non-invasive cardiac activity of patient populations by continuous electrocardiographic display.
The Monitoring Technician communicates with the Registered Nurse any changes in the basic electrocardiographic pattern.
Under the direction of the RN, the Monitoring Technician also assists in nursing cares.
The Monitoring Technician is also responsible for ordering supplies and re-stocking supplies in the rooms and patient care carts.
Education and/or Experience License/Certification/Registration
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
On-the-job training provided.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Previous experience in medical field and/or telemetry monitoring preferred.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
License/Certification/Registration
Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) degree is preferred.
Work Schedule
Varied shifts; 72 hours every 2 weeks.
7:00 am - 7:30 pm, ​​​​​​​7:00 pm - 7:30 am
Every 3rd weekend
Every 3rd holiday
Occasional call time
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$17.50 - $23.00 per hour
